How we are paid

Financial services products normally generate commission. The amount and structure of the commission varies depending upon the particular product. For example, some commissions are one-off payments whilst others can be for the term of the investment.

As a general rule, the commission amount is included in the charges of the chosen product. It is paid upon commencement of the policy and normally equates to a percentage of the premiums paid or amount invested.

In the majority of cases the commission generated is adequate recompense for the level of work undertaken. However, should this not be the case, a fixed fee may be selected as the best means of payment.

In servicing our clients’ affairs, it is often necessary to carry out work that does not generate commission. In this case, we would discuss the potential cost implications with you and quote a fixed fee before undertaking any work on your behalf. An invoice would be issued once the task has been completed.

As client choice and control are extremely important to Willow, we offer all clients a fee-based service menu whereby you select the level of service that you would like to receive. For example, we can provide regular reviews, news bulletins, formal meetings and advisory reports.

For some clients, we offer performance-related fees so that if your investments should fall, our income would also fall.
